Screen Size

Nowadays, 8GB RAM is common in the laptop, which is just enough for typing work. However, it won’t be a bad idea if you can choose even more, especially if you’re a Chrome user.
Portability
The weight and screen size are two pillars that affect the portability of the laptop.
Writer’s habits are different from others; they can work sitting in the grass, on a couch or in a coffee shop. Therefore, it becomes super important to choose a lighter weight laptop.
If you want a big-screen laptop, then you have to compromise on the weight. Finally, you have to sacrifice for one feature – weight or screen size. Commonly, a 17″ beast with the 8-9 pound is not going to work.
Battery Life
It is also a significant feature because luckily there won’t open the power outlets available everywhere for you. Moreover, writing is very time-consuming work, for example – for writing this post I spent 6-7 hours. So, it becomes imperative to check the battery life of the laptop before purchasing.
In most cases, the manufacturers claim the more battery life, but in reality, it differs. You can find 1-2 hours difference in the backup, and in the worst-case scenario, this difference can go up to 3 hours.

Dedicated Graphics
Not necessary! If you are going to use your laptop only for writing, then integrated graphics are sufficient for you.
